I am absolutely fascinated and enthralled with 3D printers, and all the colors of filament, and all of the artistic possibilities.

I started making some Graffiti art to show off all the colors i had. Then i got inspired to try and simulate a color change gradient.

I did a lot of experimenting with super thin layers and color combos to see how many different colors could i actually get from a few colors of filament.

I also have a good friend whose daughter loves to play pretend that she is an ice cream server. I could tell she loves all the fun colors and shapes of the ice creams and the sprinkles and stuff, so i wanted to make her a sign that she can play with. It truly is inspiring to watch a child’s imagination at work and how much pure, creative though they are pumping into whatever they are doing. They think with such real logic, yet have such a loose frame of reference on reality. Its a shame we lose that creativity and plasticity as we grow up.

The Modeling of this one was pretty rough, but i printed the backer as one piece, and the ice cream in 4 pieces.

I snipped off little pieces of filament for the sprinkles and used a bit of super glue to hold everything together.

As i said earlier, a child’s imagination is extremely powerful. By the time i finished this sign and brought it to Amelia, She had already built he own ice cream truck!

Ive worked with grown adults who are “professional engineers” who cannot prototype as well as this

I had a friend commission this little trinket to look like those name tag things

I wanted to experiment and start playing with softer, more organic looking shapes and models. While doing that, I created a sign for my friend Rita.

I had to try and print these out and give them to her. Especially when I had these soft pastel colors I knew she would love.
